2023 Villa Wolf Pinot Noir, Pfalz, Germany
Regular price: $18 per bottle
Sale price: $14 per bottle
A fine Pinot Noir full of character, characterized by the mild climate and the warm mineral soils of the Pfalz. A long aging, partly in small oak barrels, gives it the typical Burgundian elegance and silkiness. Paired with a wonderful fruit aroma, it becomes a smooth food companion.
2023 Frederic Esmonin Bourgogne Cotes de Beaune, France
Regular price: $30 per bottle
Sale price: $24 per bottle
Domaine Frédéric Esmonin, from Burgundy's Gevrey-Chambertain appellation, is a true family collaboration that consists of Frederic, his father, André, and his mother, Michele. They have been farming their 10-acres of family vineyards for generations and selling their fruit to the likes of Drouhin, Jadot, and Leroy. In 1988 they began to commercialize their own labels. Today they are producing consistently high-quality, beautiful wines that represent a great value considering their pedigree.
2023 Lingua Franca ‘Avni’ Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon
Regular price: $40 per bottle
Sale price: $29 per bottle
Formed by famed Burgundian winemaker Dominique Lafon and US sommelier Larry Stone, alongside winemaking protégé Thomas Savre, the goal is to not to replicate the wines of Burgundy but to craft a new lineage from shared skills and knowledge used in a unique location. The wine itself, Avni Pinot Noir, is made of grapes from 3 distinctive locations in Willamette and is rich and robust with floral and fruit flavors bursting from the glass. Balanced and harmonious, smooth and fresh, this wine is a sensational value that deftly accomplishes its lofty goals.
2024 Truth Pinot Noir, Carneros, California
Regular price: $25 per bottle
Sale price: $20 per bottle
Beginning with the nose, one encounters subtle red fruits, saddle leather, tobacco leaf, and a distinct garigue. The palate delivers vibrant red fruits including baked cherry and grilled fig, intertwined with silky creamy texture, followed by notes of toasted oak and forest floor on the warming finish. Ten months of barrel age lends a sweetness that balances the supple tannin from this exceptional vintage producing an intense full bodied Pinot Noir.
2024 Adobe Flats Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast, California
Regular price: $20 per bottle
Sale price: $16 per bottle
Pinot Noir is expensive to grow and craft, so finding one for under $20 that still captures its silky texture, bright red fruit, and earthy nuance is rare—like spotting a unicorn. Most bottles at that price are drinkable, but only a few are truly “well-made” in the sense of showing balance and authenticity. This wine, however, from Sonoma Coast’s windy and cool Petaluma Gap, does the nearly impossible. It greets you with a wink of blackberry, a hug of toasted oak, and just a sprinkle of baking spice. Take a sip and you’ll find even more juicy berry dancing across your tongue, with oak spice keeping the rhythm. The finish? Smooth, velvety tannins that linger like the last note of your favorite song—playful, pleasing, and easy to remember.
