Domaine du Haut Fresne Coteaux d’Ancenis
Loire Valley, France
Regular price: $18
Sale price: $14
Made from 25-year-old vines, carefully cultivated in a sandy-silty terroir, it embodies the very essence of the region. Its bewitching nose reveals aromas of red fruits, enhanced by peppery notes. On the palate, it reveals all its generosity with a bright fruitiness and exquisite freshness.
Christophe Pacalet Beaujolais-Villages
Beaujolais, France
Regular price: $27
Sale price: $21
The wine delivers a fresh and delicately funky nose of red berries, violets, and green herbs. Light-weight and velvety on the palate, moving to deeper fruit mid-palate, which is then picked up by refreshing acidity. Highly quaffable stuff.
Château de La Bottière Juliénas
Cru Beaujolais, France
Regular price: $20
Sale price: $16
On the nose, it is a breeze of dark raspberries and wild strawberries, peppered with crushed violets, peonies, star anise, and an undercurrent of dark, stony earth. It is plenty smooth, pretty, and soft, but there is also a nice crunch of acid and tannin which gives the wine its lift and palate persistence. While exceedingly drinkable now, We're confident it has enough gusto for short-term aging (3-5 years).
Domaine de la Beche Morgon
Cru Beaujolais, France
Regular price: $25
Sale price: $20
Very old vines (70 to 100 years old!) of Gamay Noir growing on a terroir of blue shale and rotten rocks. A nose of black cherry and fresh raspberry with spicy notes. On the palate, a beautiful aromatic complexity, power, fat and substance are present. Surprising balance and delicacy, mineral and without heaviness with well-integrated tannins.
Patrick Bottex ‘La Cueille’ Bugey-Cerdon
Savoie, France
Regular price: $27
Sale price: $21
A blend of 80% Gamay with 20% Poulsard (a local grape), Patrick Bottex's 'La Cueille' is a deep rose in color with a lovely taste of wild strawberries. Ever so slightly sweet, it makes a delightful aperitif, or party wine. And with just 8% alcohol in it, you can feel free to open a bottle for an afternoon dessert fest.
