 On the nose, it has an elegantly rich aroma that is common among all well-matured scotches. The nuance comes from a mix of sweet and fruity notes. On the sweet side, you get a touch of vanilla but mostly deep honey notes. As for fruit, it is mostly presented as ripe green apples. Along with subtle notes of oak and spice, it adds to a pleasant aroma. When tasting, your first impression is how the whisky finds that impressive balance of being both smooth yet full-bodied in flavor. A touch of that honey from the nose comes through, but the most prominent sweet taste is that of caramel, and you get a little toffee, too. 

16 Year Old Double Cask Matured

Matured in two types of casks, the traditional oak and sherry oak casks and bottled at a slightly lower abv of 40% than previous editions, this 16 year old Aberlour is bursting with lush plum, raisin and even floral notes. A cracking Speyside malt. 

18 Year Old Double Sherry Cask Matured

Originally only sold on the French market, Aberlour 18 was released for general consumption in 2008. This is a full bodied and richly sumptuous expression, combining mellow vanilla with a fruity spiciness. In its lucrative past is has won Gold as well as Best in Class in the International Wine and Spirits Competition. But since it was chosen from only the finest casks, it really is no wonder.

2 oz Aberlour 12 yr old

1 oz Sparkling wine or Champagne

½ oz Amaro Montenegro

Orange peel garnish

Combine all ingredients with ice, stir well and strain into an ‘up’ glass
