Whiskey Wednesday - Maine's Shorebird Bourbon

The Hardshore Distilling Co. of Portland, Maine, has announced the inaugural release of Shorebird Bourbon, a duo of house-distilled and aged bourbons featuring the founder’s family-grown grains. The inaugural line-up will include a Small Batch Bourbon, which has been aging for no fewer than four years and features four-grain mash bill of grains grown on Milne’s family farm: corn, wheat, rye and malted barley. There is also a Single Barrel Bourbon, which has been resting for no fewer than five years and is bottled from a very select few casks which are not blended to allow the unique character of each to shine through

Shorebird 4YO Small Batch Bourbon

Our small batch bourbon has been carefully aged in for more than 4 years right here are our Portland distillery. The mash bill is a blend of our family-grown corn, wheat, rye and malted barley. It exhibits sweet notes of honey and spice, with soft vanilla.

Shorebird 5YO Single Barrel Bourbon

Our Single Barrel Bourbon has been aged a minimum of 5 years in heavily charred, 53-gallon oak casks. Each cask has been carefully selected by our team of artisan distillers for its exceptional balance, allowing the distinctive character of each to be presented without blending or alteration. In the words of one of our tasters, "This is some fine-ass bourbon!"
