Cheap & Cheerful - Alain de la Treille Pinot Noir

Alain de la Treille Pinot Noir

Vin de France

regular price: $14 per bottle

Sale price: $11 per bottle

This is a delightful and affordable Pinot Noir from France's Loire Valley that pays tribute to long friendship between farmer Treille and winemaker Jean-Claude Bougrier. Jean-Claude’s son Noël took over in 1988, becoming the fifth generation of his family to make wine. Still the owner today, Noël Bougrier created 3 cellars, widening the wine growing area of the estate to the entire Loire Valley, from Sancerre to the Pays Nantais. He was joined by his son Nicolas in 2015, and the 2 generations work together to carry out their only goal of revealing the best expression of the Loire Valley.

Bright and fresh, this fruity and friendly wine suggests that it is possible to make affordable wine from this finicky grape. Finished with a screwcap (as all wines should be) the wine is unoaked and finishes with invigorating acidity, prompting you towards another glass.
