Argentine Malbec has seen a transformation from oddity to staple over the last 25 years, but it’s really a good news/bad news situation. The good news is that most are smooth and polished and affordable. The bad news? Well, it's not all that bad…but the wines often show no sense of place or even grape; all too often Argentine Malbec presents as a perfectly acceptable red wine of some indeterminate place and grape.

This wine, on the other hand, is decidedly Malbec and definitely made of Malbec and not at all worse for those distinctions. The wine is fresher than most Malbec yet still full and fruity, rich and smooth. Its a more ‘serious’ Malbec but that doesn’t deter one from simply enjoying it.
